It's crazy how time flies and before we know it, we are already sitting here, brew in hand jotting down ideas for our next event! We can't believe our last meet up happened three weeks ago. Before we shared more about our January event, we thought it would actually be a good idea to practise what we preach, and have a little break to recharge our very flat batteries. After a good rest, we thought it's about time that we shared a few more photos and a round up of the night.

Yet again, we had a lovely bunch of creatives join us for the evening, even though we all had the panic of being snowed in for the day! We were so happy that so many of you managed to make it, despite all odds being against us with the weather. Being typical northerners, we love a good brew so it made sense for us to choose the quirky venue Leaf, to host us for the night (you may have already had a chance to try their loose leaf teas that they kindly gave us for our goody bags!). We loved the relaxed, artsy feel of the room, and we knew they'd do their best to make you all feel at home.
One of the struggles we often face is finding the time to look after ourselves. Running a business is like spinning 10 million plates and we can become so focused on looking after our clients, our own wellbeing becomes bottom of the priority list. With that in mind, we thought it would be perfect to focus our January event around this topic to help kick start the year on a positive note. We invited two guest speakers to talk to us about their own personal journeys around wellbeing, and what they have learned along the way.
It was amazing to hear their stories and realise what great things can be possible when you start to focus on yourself for once.
First up, we had Robin Ellis from Yin Yan who shared insight into his own personal struggles and how learning something new, giving himself permission to be a beginner again and trusting his instincts led him down a brand new rewarding career path.
Secondly, Ila Petrucci from Lifestyled planner shared her story of how reaching rock bottom forced her to make a change with how she was managing her money, and in order to move forward she did everything she could to master the art of money management, allowing her to reduce the stress she was facing in her life.
We find it so interesting to hear other peoples experiences, as we can learn so much from each other and we really hope our events continue to give people in our industry a chance to do just that.
A big thank you to our competition contributors; Yin Yan who gifted a Ukulele, Lifestyle planner who gifted their lovely planners and financial trackers, House of Sloane who gifted a beautiful cocktail trolley and to Utology for gifting one of their handcrafted magazine racks. And lastly a big thank you to all of our goody bag contributors; Arighi Bianchi, Ruth Holly Paper & Home, Salt and Soak, Estila Magazine and Leaf.
This year we have the support from two fantastic companies and without them we wouldn't be able to deliver these events. Our main sponsors are Concept Bespoke Joinery, who are are quality manufacturers of bespoke and modular high end residential and commercial furniture. We'll be visiting their factory soon to see how they make their products and can't wait to learn all about it! Keep an eye out on our stories to see the behind the scenes.
Our events are also sponsored by Tektura Wallcoverings, who are specialists in contract wall coverings. They have a brilliant selection filled with texture, colour and pattern. Last year we interviewed Angela Paterson and we found out some interesting facts about how the company began, how they stay on top of trends and how they choose their wallpaper designers! Make sure to keep an eye out for details of our March event, we'll be in Preston this time!
