September Meet-up: Concept North 1 Year Anniversary
Time & Location
About the Event
This September we are celebrating our one year anniversary - nearly to the day! One year ago last September we gathered together in Liverpool's The Florist for the very first time, not knowing where this venture is taking us or whether anyone is interested in becoming part of this community. We had the most amazing launch party and fast forward to 1 year later, we thought there is no place we would rather celebrate our anniversary than The Florist!
Over the last year we’ve had the pleasure to get to know some amazing people industry, and so we’ve decided to invite a few people who continue to support and inspire us for an informal panel talk - we will be talking about their journeys, their views on the industry and more! So who will you be seeing on the panel talk at our September meet-up?
We’ve been in awe of Leanne’s energy and career since the moment we first met her and couldn’t wait for a chance to get her involved in Concept North. Leanne has worked in commercial interiors and branding for over 12 years. Living and working in Manchester, Leanne started her career in Liverpool moving to Manchester in 2009. She has worked her way from designer to board director, managing award winning interior design practices in Manchester for over half of this time. Her constant drive to create and deliver aspirational experiences as well as develop and mentor creatives around her has kept Leanne motivated and inspired for over a decade and will continue to do so for the next few.’
Fiona needs no introduction - one of the leading designers here up North and the loveliest person you could meet, we are so excited that she accepted to be part of the September meet-up! Fiona has worked in the industry for around 20 years. A background of working in hotels gave Fiona a sense of how to combine elegance and luxury with scale, which she has transferred to her projects in private homes. Originating from New Zealand and having previously lived in Holland, Fiona brings a flavour of relaxed living coupled with cutting-edge European design to my work, while as a member of the Historic Houses Association, Fiona is just at home working in traditional period settings. Fiona is also a Registered Interior Designer of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).’
There are some northern creative businesses we really look up to and admire, and R2 Architecture is definitely one of them. Richard Eastwood is the founder and director of R2 Architecture. The award-winning design practice’s impressive portfolio of projects include Korova, Alma de Cuba, Panoramic, LEAF, Neon Jamon, Mowgli Bold Street, Jenny’s, Delifonseca, Papillon and Cricket. The team has also worked with a host of internationally recognised brands including Urban Splash, The Radisson Hotel Group and British Airways 360. Prior to founding R2 Architecture, Richard worked with Union North on schemes ranging from Cablehouse on Cheapside, to the Albert Docks’ regeneration-boosting Pan Am and Baby Blue. Today, R2 Architecture is widely regarded as one of the North Wests’ most successful and prolific interior design practices.
